SAN JOSE, Calif. Authentic Karl Malone Jersey . - Ryane Clowe plopped down on the bench in front of his locker and leaned back against the wall. He just finished a long, exhausting, yet satisfying day. It was a work day for me, said Clowe, who recorded a goal, an assist and earned a fighting major in the San Jose Sharks 3-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. When youre on and off you never know when your next shift is going to be. It seemed like we were playing too much in the neutral zone but when we got down low, we were effective. Sharks coach Todd McLellan won another game against a former employer when Jamie McGinn and Clowe scored within 2:14 of each other in the third period. Mike Grier also scored for the Sharks, who remained unbeaten at home in seven games and own the best record in the NHL at 11-2. They are a disciplined team but as we got our legs under us we played loose, Grier said. We made a couple mistakes in the second but Nabby bailed us out and we had the third to redeem ourselves. Krystofer Kolanos scored for the Wild, who lost their eighth straight to the Sharks. McLellan coached the Wilds AHL team in Houston to the Calder Cup championship in 2003 before joining the Detroit Red Wings, whom the Sharks beat last week at home. There were a lot of familiar faces, McLellan said. There were a number of players I had the opportunity to spend time with. That organization does a good job in developing talent. Kolanos scored his first NHL goal in over three years. The former Phoenix first-round draft pick last scored on Nov. 3, 2005 as a member of the Coyotes. He was recalled from the Aeroes on Monday, but was unable to practice with the team because his equipment didnt make it to San Jose. Thats a very good feeling, something Ive worked very hard for, Kolanos said. I was pretty calm. I felt prepared. There was a good feeling in the stomach, an exciting feeling. Kim Johnssons shot from the blue-line bounced off Evgeni Nabokovs chest and Kolanos was in perfect position to fling the puck into the net with 15:11 remaining to play in the first period. Overall the guys played hard, Wild coach Jacques Lemaire said. What changed the dynamic of the game was the second goal. Backstrom made the save but the puck went back to another player and they scored. They are a top team and when you make a mistake it ends up in the net. The Sharks tied it with 2:39 left in the period on a deflection by Grier off a shot by Clowe. McGinn scored on a rebound of a Jeremy Roenick shot with 16:49 remaining to play to put the Sharks ahead and Clowe followed two minutes later with a shot off a pass from Grier. That second goal was a big goal for them, Wild goalkeeper Niklas Backstrom said. Clowe and Wild defender Erik Reitz each drew a five-minute fighting penalty after a lengthy scuffle midway through the third period. The Sharks, who rank second in the NHL in shots per game, recorded 49 against the Wild. Notes: Wild D Brent Burns was scratched with soreness in his upper body. . Kolanos played in his first NHL game since Dec. 15, 2005 with the Edmonton Oilers. . Grier scored his eighth goal against the Wild, his most against any team except Calgary (11). . Clowe scored a goal in his third straight and six of seven games overall. . The Sharks were 4-5-2 at home through November last year. . The Wild are scoreless in their last 16 power play opportunities. Wholesale NBA Jerseys . - Casey Cizikas scored a pair goals for the second game in a row and defenceman Cameron Gaunce had a goal and three assists as the Mississauga St. Blazers Jersey . Financial terms were not disclosed. The name Dan Bass will be familiar to fans as because his father, Dan Sr. is a CFL Hall of Famer who spent 12 seasons in the league (Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto). Clippers Blake Griffin Jersey . John-Michael Liles scored 42 seconds into overtime as the Colorado Avalanche continued to play spoiler, defeating Edmonton 3-2 Saturday night for their second straight win. Rudy Fernandez Jersey . High-scoring Devils forward Zach Parise had a breakthrough season in 2008-2009, scoring 45 goals, 94 points and recording a plus-30 rating. If the Devils tighten up defensively, that could affect Parises production, but hell still be New Jerseys franchise scorer. Carmelo Anthony Jerseys . - Ryan Sweeting of the U. LAS VEGAS -- Dominick Cruz successfully defended his bantamweight title with a tough split-decision victory over Joseph Benavidez at WEC 50 on Wednesday night. Cruz looked like he might be in trouble after he was tagged with a knee in the fourth round that opened up a nasty gash on the bridge of his nose. But the San Diego native came back strong in the fifth, evading the brunt of Benavidezs attacks before taking him down and controlling the end of the round en route to a win in his first title defence. "I just concentrated on doing what I do best, staying hard to hit," said Cruz (16-1), still bleeding and with both ears visibly swollen in a post-fight interview. "Obviously it didnt work out too well on all the exchanges," he added with a grin. Benavidez, from Las Cruces, N.M., was clearly the crowd favourite, drawing cheers when he hit the elusive Cruz. At one point the fans broke into a full "Ben-a-vid-ez" chant. The five-foot-four Benavidez (12-2) was often the more aggressive fighter, but Cruz was able to use his speed and four-inch height advantage to control much of the fight. Cruz also handed Benavidez his only other loss, a unanimous decision in an August 2009 bout that earned fight of the night honours. "Benavidez is a great competitor, I give him all the props in the world," Cruz said. "He didnt fall into the trash talk of a lot of people. Hes an honourable fighter and I respect him in every way.&" In the undercard, lightweight Anthony (Showtime) Pettis (10-1) defeated Shane Roller (8-3) by submission with just 10 seconds remaining in the match. Authentic Jeremy Lin Jersey. Pettis rolled out of Rollers guillotine attempt, then locked on a triangle choke with time running out in the third and final round. Pettis lived up to his nickname, breaking out several crowd-pleasing acrobatic kicks that seemed to miss as often as they hit. At one point in the second round he broke out of one of Rollers holds by using the cage to push into a back somersault. Featherweight Chad (Money) Mendes (8-0) remained undefeated with a unanimous decision win over Cub Swanson (14-4). Mendes fought a methodical match, committing few mistakes, and seemed content to control Swanson on the ground for much of the fight. Scott (Young Guns) Jorgensen (11-3) defeated British fighter Brad (One Punch) Pickett (20-5) by unanimous decision in a bantamweight bout. The match started with an fierce exchange of strikes that saw Pickett lose his mouthguard twice before Jorgensen took control by implementing a superior ground attack. Veteran lightweight Bart (Bartimus) Palaszewski (34-13) defeated Zach Micklewright (9-2) by TKO in the second round. Palaszewski sent Micklewright reeling into the cage with a right knee to the abdomen. Palaszewski made the most of the opening, following up with a flurry of punches before sending Micklewright to the canvas with a stiff right to the jaw. ' ' '

Dave Carroll - TSN. Clippers Chris Paul Jersey .ca On Thursday, Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston took a few shots at Roger Clemens and, as always, his words carry a lot of weight. Gaston called his former ace a few choice names after reporters asked him if he believed an allegation in Jeff Pearlmans book, "The Rocket That Fell to Earth," about Clemens having a hand in getting the manager fired. Gaston doesnt doubt Clemens might have been involved. He told reporters about a confrontation between the two from 1997 where Clemens made reference to having him replaced. "What do you want to do - about staying here or leaving? - thats what [Clemens] said: Do you want to stay or do you want to leave," Gaston said Thursday. Former Jays general manager, and current Brewers assistant GM, Gord Ash dismissed the allegation in the Pearlman book. "[Clemens] never talked to me about it, thats all I can say," Ash told the Globe and Mail on Thursday. "You know that stuff is about 10 years ago, or more. I can only tell you that he never once brought it up to me." Even with Ashs denial, its hard not to believe the negative about Clemens at this point. So benefit of the doubt isnt an option most will choose. He has taken a beating as of late, not as bad as Alex Rodriguez, but bad nonetheless. Ive added the Pearlman book to my list of stuff to read. Just getting into "The Yankee Years" and after far too long a wait, Im enjoying it thus far. Have to see what it says about the Rocket. Gaston is a gentleman, he always seems sincere and Clemens, well… not so much. I had the opportunity to interview Gaston recently for an upcoming piece and he just comes across as an easy going guy. Weve all seen him upset, taking issue with questionable call by umpires, but away from the field he seldom loses his cool. Hes a former player and long-time coach and manager so he essentially has to have a temper; he just keeps it in check. He carries himself with such composure that going off like he did on Thursday emphasizes anything he says. Its pretty obvious from Gastons reputation that he values respect. He is a players manager and spoke glowingly during our interview about stars like Rickey Henderson, Dave Winfield, Jack Morris and Paul Molitor from the Championship seasons. You really take notice when the guy who seemingly has good things to say about everyone opens fire like that. Gaston did say that Clemens was a skilled pitcher and what Rocket Roger did on the field in 1997, and 1998, was remarkable. There is a growing list of negative Rocket stories making the rounds and one must wonder what will happen when he becomes eligible for Cooperstown. Will the troubling stories and accounts overshadow the formidable numbers? -- Jeter The Leader -- It looks as if Derek Jeter will be the first Yankee to dig in at the plate in a regular season game at the teams new home on Thursday April 16. Manager Joe Girardi told reporters "Ive liked what Ive seen," regarding the games this spring where Jeter has hit at the top of the order with Johnny Damon in the two spot. Jeter is a great hitter and will do a good job at the top of the order, but an added bonus gives him that coveted first at bat in the new park. He has been the shortstop for the team since the mid-90s and has written a hefty entry for himself into Yankee lore. You would expect he will be the last player to wear No. 2 in the pinstripes; the team should begin using fractions after 2021. He has been knocked for his defensive range at short and while there is some truth to the talk, he is still one of the smartest players in the game. He also has another important quality, the will to win. No matter if its diving head first into the seats after a ball, or showing up out of nowhere to shovel the ball to home for an out, he has the ability to turn a game around. He is a player you dont want to see come to the plate late in a game and that is as big a compliment as you can give a hitter. He deserves the honour. In addition, he is the most visible link to the most recent Yankee dynasty and since Mariano Rivera or Andy Pettitte dont hit, it makes sense for Jeter to go to the plate and get the fans thinking about a return to glory. To be honest I think the team is hoping speedy outfielder Brett Gardiner will eventually hit himself, or more accurately get on base himself, into the lead role. The 25-year-old has game-changing speed. Jeremy Lin Jerseys . - Ryan Button scored with 54 seconds left in overtime to give the Prince Albert Raiders a 3-2 comeback win over the visiting Vancouver Giants in Western Hockey League action Saturday night. NEW YORK -- Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck entered the season as the overwhelming favourite to win the Heisman Trophy. He will head to New York for the presentation of college footballs most famous player of the year award having relinquished front-runner status to another quarterback -- one known as RG3. Luck, along with Robert Griffin III, Trent Richardson, Tyrann Mathieu and Montee Ball are the Heisman finalists. The group, announced Monday on ESPN, will be at the presentation Saturday night in Manhattan. Its a return trip for Luck, the only repeat finalist this season, while Griffin is the first Baylor player to get an invite to the ceremony. The school has never had a player finish better than fourth in the Heisman voting, but now it seems to have the favourite. "Im sure it will be a really close vote," Griffin told reporters in Waco, Texas, after watching the announcement with teammates and coaches. Richardson is the second Alabama running back to be a finalist in the past three years. Former teammate Mark Ingram won the Heisman in 2009. Ball has scored 38 touchdowns for Wisconsin and needs one more to match Barry Sanders NCAA record. Mathieu, the LSU defensive back nicknamed "Honey Badger," has made numerous game-changing plays for the top-ranked Tigers. The field was deep this season and several deserving players didnt make the cut. Most notable, Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore, a finalist last season, Southern California quarterback Matt Barkley and Houstons record-breaking passer, Case Keenum, did not receive enough votes to be among the final five. Ballots from the 926 voters, mostly media members and former winners, were due Monday evening. Luck was the Heisman runner-up to Auburns Cam Newton last year and passed up a chance to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft to return to Stanford for his junior season. From the moment he made the decision to stay in school in January, he became the odds-on favourite to win the big bronze statue. Luck is looking to become Stanfords second Heisman winner, joining quarterback Jim Plunkett, who won in 1970. "It would mean a lot," Luck said in an interview on ESPN. "I would mean a great deal for the university. Mean a lot to me and a great deal to the football program, as well." He had another stellar season, passing for 3,170 yards with 35 touchdowns while leadingg the Cardinal to an 11-1 record and a second straight BCS bid. Tony Parker Jersey. But the competition has been fierce and numerous contenders emerged. The prognosticators now have Griffin as the most likely winner. Heismanpundit.com, which has successfully predicted the past four winners with a straw poll of 13 voters, had Griffin as its top vote-getter on Monday. Luck was second and Richardson third. Stiffarmtrophy.com, which compiles ballots from voters who make their choices public and has predicted the past nine winners, had Griffin winning by a comfortable margin over Luck, with Richardson third. Griffin leads the nation in passer rating (192.3), with 3,998 yards and 36 touchdowns. He has also run for 644 yards and nine touchdowns. And much like Luck, Griffin has led a long-struggling program to its greatest success in decades. Baylor is 9-3 this season, its first nine-win season since 1986, including its first victory against Oklahoma. "Baylor nation were in there," Griffin said. "Now we just got to try to snatch it. Hopefully the vote turns out our way. "Being invited is an honour. Its not all that we want, but its a starting spot." The best showing a Baylor player has had in the Heisman voting was quarterback Don Trulls fourth-place finish in 1963. Richardson has been the unquestioned offensive engine for No. 2 Alabama. Hes fifth in the nation in rushing at 131.9 yards per game and tied for fifth in touchdowns with 23. Richardson and the Crimson Tide will meet Mathieu and LSU in the BCS championship game on Jan. 9 in New Orleans. The sophomore cornerback is the second defensive player to be a Heisman finalist in the past three years. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska finished fourth in 2009. Mathieu, though, is more like Charles Woodson, the do-it-all defensive back who won the 1997 Heisman for Michigan. Mathieu has forced five fumbles, intercepted two passes and scored four touchdowns, including two long punt returns in LSUs past two games against Arkansas and Georgia. He also was suspended for a game this season for violating the teams drug policy. Ball has been a touchdown machine for Wisconsin and ranks fourth in rushing at 135.3 yards per game. He has 12 more touchdowns than the next best player in the nation and if he can tack on two more in the Rose Bowl against Oregon, hell break Sanders record. ' ' '

CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- Trash talking. Authentic Chris Paul Jersey . Mind games. Maybe even a little outright deception. Germany and Argentina have the Oscar for best World Cup drama locked up -- and theyre just getting started. Imagine whats in store when theyre actually on the field for Saturdays quarter-final, a grudge match four years in the making. "We have no lack of respect for Argentina," Germany coach Joachim Loew insisted Friday. Dont like em much either, though. The Germans and Argentines may not exude nastiness in the same way as, say, the Raiders and the Chiefs. But their relationship has been testy since they traded World Cup titles in back-to-back finals 20 years ago, and its been downright ugly lately. After Germany eliminated Argentina on penalty kicks four years ago, also in the quarter-finals, the two teams traded punches and kicks in a scuffle. It was so chippy, even some of the team officials got involved. No ones decked anyone in South Africa -- yet -- but mild-mannered German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger ratcheted up the buzz on whats already one of the best matchups at the World Cup by accusing the Argentines of not showing respect for opponents and referees. It goes beyond the 2006 fight, Schweinsteiger said, pointing out that Argentina -- coach Diego Maradona included -- mixed it up with Mexico as the teams headed to the tunnel at halftime of their second-round game. "You could see their behaviour at halftime of the game against Mexico," Schweinsteiger said Wednesday. "When you look at their body language and gesticulations, the way they try to influence the referees, they have no respect. Its their mentality and character and well have to adjust." Captain Philipp Lahm chimed in a day later, essentially calling the Argentines hotheads. "They are temperamental, well see how they deal with defeat on Saturday," Lahm said. "They are impulsive, temperamental and they dont know how to lose." Not to be outdone, Maradona -- hardly the model of restraint -- mocked Schweinsteiger in an interview with Fox Sports Argentina, asking if the midfielder was "nervous." And in Argentinas latest bit of intrigue, Lionel Messi has a "mild cold" -- though one bad enough to make FIFAs reigning world player of the year skip a practice. The Argentines skipped their workout at Green Point Stadium on Friday, instead holding a closed practice at their base in Pretoria. Messi had recovered enough to take part, and Argentine officials even put out a photo as proof. "The important thing is that we answer on the field," Argentine defender Martin Demichelis said. "The best answer is during the game." Yes, but this is so much more fun. The teams played an exhibition in March without any fisticuffs. But there are no friendlies at the World Cup. Even Loew is getting into the act. Not exactly the most colourful guy in the game with his piercing stare and low-key demeanour, Loew had the chance to smooth things over Friday and made, at best, a halfhearted attempt. "They are physical to the limit of legality," he said. "Thats their mentality on the field. It has nothing to do with the real character of the people, who are friendly and warmhearted. But theyre incredibly aggressive on the field. "We have a high opinion of them as players," Loew added, "and we know that we are going to run into the biggest possible resistance." Mind games are nothing new in big-time sports. The Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett is known as one of the biggest yappers around, trying to find something -- anything -- that will throw opponents off their games. No way Alex Rodriguez was just taking a shortcut when he cut across the pitchers mound as he returned. But soccer seems like it should be above such pettiness. This is, after all, the same sport where players trade shirts after the final whistle. Which is what makes Germany and Argentinas kerfuffle all the more entertaining. The Germans are clearly trying to rattle Argentina, knowing Maradona has a temper. Get him riled up, the Germans are probably thinking, and Maradona might just melt down, destroying his own team in the process. If you think thats a stretch, note that even the slightest hint of controversy at this World Cup has sent players tripping over their own feet in their haste to apologize or explain themselves. (This means you, Deco and John Terry.) Yet when asked about Schweinsteigers comments, Loew shrugged them off. "Bastian was expressing his opinion," Loew said. "And we have freedom of speech." And Maradona is playing right along. Players have to be missing a limb to miss practice at this stage of the game. Yet Argentina would have everyone believe a case of the sniffles had bested Messi. Two days before a quarter-final match, no less. Uh-huh. "There is no need to talk about our opponents as they have done," Maradona said. "We are exclusively focused on our side, on our team, and were going to show this on the field tomorrow." In other words, stay tuned. Julius Erving Jersey . Financial terms of the contract were not released, but TSN is reporting the deal will pay Mueller $1.5 million this season and $2.5 million in 2011-12. "We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Peter," said Avalanche General Manager Greg Sherman. Swingman New York Knicks Jersey .Y. (AP) -Rick DiPietro stopped all 29 shots he faced and the New York Islanders ended a 14-game winless streak with a 2-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Friday. Authentic Carlos Boozer Jersey .75 million a season. Nolan, 36, recorded 32 points and 71 penalty minutes in 77 games with the Calgary Flames in 2007-08. Knicks Jersey . Leftwich spent the 2008 season with Pittsburgh, performing as the backup to Ben Roethlisberger after Charlie Batch was shelved with a broken right collarbone. The Marshall product appeared in five games for the Super Bowl champion Steelers, completing 21-of-36 passes for 303 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Ryan Callahan Premier Jersey . LOUIS (AP) -The St.This is a season to celebrate in Montreal and for good reason. The Canadiens host the NHL All-Star Game, the NHL Entry Draft and have a team that just might be good enough to to compete for the Stanley Cup next spring. None of this happened by accident. The Canadiens were building for years towards this, their 100th anniversary season. But there is one problem - has anyone thought of the seasons beyond? Next year, there are storm clouds gathering in Montreal. Ten players on the roster will become unrestricted free agents next summer, including forwards Saku Koivu, Alex Tanguay, Alex Kovalev, Robert Lang and defenceman Mike Komisarek. And that list doesnt include Christopher Higgins, Tomas Plekanec and Guillaume Latendresse, who will become restricted free agents looking forr big raises. Authentic Tony Parker Jersey. The Canadiens are already a capped team now, so no matter what happens next summer theyre going to have to make some tough decisions. And no matter who they decide to keep, theyre going to have to let some important players go. Of the players mentioned, seven of them account for Montreals top eight scorers this season. So there are going to be some big holes left behind. But in Montreal right now, they would rather talk about the present. And why not? The Canadiens havent won the Stanley Cup in 14 seasons - the longest drought in franchise history. And who knows - maybe next spring, Canadiens players will be sipping champagne from the silver trophy. Whether they do or dont, there will be a major hangover for the teams 101st season. ' ' '

(Sports Network) - The top-seeded San Jose Sharks will host the two-time defending Western Conference champions tonight, as the Detroit Red Wings visit HP Pavilion for Game 1 of the conference semifinals. LaMarcus Aldridge Jersey . Its a game that you can catch tonight on TSN starting at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt. The game is also available on TSNHD. Detroit faces a quick turnaround in the opener of this best-of-series, having just finished off the Coyotes on Tuesday in Game 7 of the conference quarterfinals. Meanwhile, the Sharks have been off since Saturday, when they closed out their opening round series against Colorado in six games. The Red Wings are a dangerous fifth seed this year, marking the first time the club is lower than a two seed since 2002. Detroit has reached the conference finals in each of the last three years. The club won it all two years ago and lost to Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup Finals last spring. San Jose, which is in the playoffs for the fifth straight season, is trying to get past the second round for the first time since losing to Calgary in the 2004 Western Conference finals. Detroit and San Jose have met three times previously in the postseason with the Red Wings winning the last two series. The two clubs last met in the 2007 conference semifinals, with Detroit advancing in six games. The Sharks had an excellent 27-6-8 record as the host during the regular season, while Detroit was 19-14-8 as the road club. Game 2 of this series is scheduled for Sunday in San Jose. The Red Wings took much of the drama out of their recent decisive game, pounding the Coyotes, 6-1, to earn their first road win in a Game 7 since beating Chicago in the opening round of the 1964 playoffs. It was also Detroits first time competing in a road Game 7 since losing to St. Louis in 1991. Pavel Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom both scored twice to lead the Red Wings to the easy win in Phoenix. "It was a great feeling to win a Game 7 on the road," said Lidstrom, who turned 40 years old on Wednesday. "It was a tough series. Phoenix was a great opponent, and were very happy with the way the team responded tonight." Brad Stuart and Todd Bertuzzi also scored while Jimmy Howard made 32 saves for the Red Wings. Henrik Zetterberg and Brian Rafalski both posted three assists for Detroit. Zetterberg led Detroit in the opening round with 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists), while Datsyuk was next with eight points on five goals and three assists. Detroits second-round weakness might rest in goal, where Howard, a Calder Trophy nominee, posted a 2.59 GAA and .919 save percentage in the opening round. The rookie was making his playoff debut versus the Coyotes. The Sharks made it to the second round without getting a great deal of production from their top line of Dany Heatley, Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau, who combined for just one goal and a minus-seven rating. While the trio also combined for nine assists in the six games -- though Heatley missed Game 3 due to a undisclosed injury -- it is a group that combined for 103 goals and 254 points in the regular season. Luckily, Ryane Clowe and Joe Pavelski picked up the scoring slack with eight points each. Clowe notched seven assists, while Pavelski led the team with five goals and scored twice in Game 6, including his second game-winner of the series. Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov also deserves some credit after posting a 1.76 goals against average, which was among the playoff leaders, and .926 save percentage in the series. He had a 2.82 GAA and .890 save percentage in last years postseason, which ended when San Jose lost in the first round to eighth-seeded Anaheim. Detroit went 3-0-1 in the regular season versus San Jose, which is coached by former Red Wings assistant Todd McLellan. The Red Wings won the first three meetings before a 3-2 shootout loss on Feb. 11 in which Nabokov made 50 saves. Patrick Eaves, Zetterberg and Dan Cleary all notched two goals versus the Sharks, while Eaves, Valtteri Filppula, Zetterberg and Tomas Holmstrom each tied for the club lead with three points in the season series. Howard started three of the four meetings, going 2-0-1 with a 1.62 GAA and .946 save percentage. The Sharks were limited to only six goals versus the Red Wings, three of those coming from Thornton. Nabokov started all four regular-season meetings, notching a 2.66 GAA and .925 save percentage. Josh Smith Jersey . MUMBAI, India – Police searching a mound of baggage abandoned amid the carnage of the attack on Mumbais main train station found two bombs Wednesday, nearly a week after they were left there by gunmen, in a stunning new example of the botched security that has become a major issue in India since the three-day siege. A bomb disposal squad officer, center, takes a suspicious box to the police station after diffusing a bomb at Chhatrapati Shivaji train station in Mumbai, India, Wednesday, December 3, 2008. [Agencies] The discovery came as Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee said India is determined to act decisively following the attacks, saying the evidence was clear the gunmen came from Pakistan and their handlers are still there. His words, the strongest yet from the government, came as thousands of Indians -- many calling for war with Pakistan -- held a vigil in Mumbai to mark one week since the start of the rampage that killed 171 people. While searching through about 150 bags, which police believed were left by the dozens of victims in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station, an officer found a suspicious-looking bag and called the bomb squad, said Assistant Commissioner of Police Bapu Domre. Inside were two 8.8-pound bombs, which were taken away and safely detonated, he said. After the attacks, police found unexploded bombs at several of the sites, including two luxury hotels and a Jewish center. It was not immediately clear why the bags at the station were not examined earlier. The station, which serves hundreds of thousands of commuters, was declared safe and reopened hours after the attack. The discovery has added to increasing accusations that Indias security forces missed warnings and bungled its response to the Nov. 26-29 attacks. Indian navy chief Sureesh Mehta has called the response to the attacks a systemic failure. The countrys top law enforcement official has resigned and two top state officials have offered to quit amid criticism that the 10 gunmen appeared better trained, better coordinated and better armed than police in Mumbai. Amare Stoudemire Jersey Authentic. . Mukherjee on Wednesday adopted a more strident tone against longtime rival Pakistan. There is no doubt the terrorist attacks in Mumbai were perpetrated by individuals who came from Pakistan and whose controllers are in Pakistan, Mukherjee said after a meeting with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, visiting as part of a US effort to ease tensions in the region. The government of India is determined to act decisively to protect Indian territorial integrity and the right of our citizens to a peaceful life, with all the means at our disposal, he said, a turnaround from earlier statements that ruled out military action. Rice urged Pakistan to act transparently, urgently and fully, saying Islamabad has a special responsibility to cooperate with the investigation. She noted that with six Americans killed in the attacks, the US was cooperating closely with India. Many Indians wanted more than just harsh words. At the candlelight gathering in Mumbai, the mood was largely belligerent, with many calling for war. India should attack Pakistan right away, said Sandeep Ambili, 27, who works for a shipping company. Something has to be done. Pakistan has been attacking my country for a long time, said another protester, Rajat Sehgal. If it means me going to war, I dont mind. Others chanted anti-Pakistan slogans and held banners reading: Enough is enough, go for war. Similar rallies were held in cities across India. Amid the cries for war, Indian Defense Minister A.K. Antony summoned the army, navy and air force chiefs to warn them to be prepared for terrorist attacks from the air and the sea in the wake of growing criticism about slack security. Antony told the military chiefs they needed to improve intelligence coordination so that security forces can act on all credible threats, according to a statement. It said Antony discussed increasing maritime security and reviewed in detail the preparedness against any possible terror threats from air. Tarean Austin had one touchdown pass and two interceptions in the setback for New Mexico (0-4, 0-2). New Mexico got on the board first with a 48-yard touchdown pass from Austin to Bryant Williams midway through the first quarter, giving the Lobos a 7-0 advantage. The Rebels answered on the ensuing drive with a three-yard touchdown run by Channing Trotter, and UNLV pushed its lead to 14-7 less than two minutes later with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Clayton to Johnson. UNLV added two more unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter and led 28-7 at intermission. The points kept coming for UNLV in the third quarter, as Clayton and Johnson connected for a 35-yard pitch and catch. Then, B.J. Bell recovered a New Mexico fumble and raced 40 yards for a score, pushing the Rebel advantage to 42-7. Nolan Kohorst hit a 24-yard field goal for UNLV in the fourth quarter to bring the score to its final of 45-10. The Lobos have now scored 41 total points through four games this season. But a 3-1 win Sunday against the Philadelphia Flyers moved the Rangers to within one point of the eighth-place Boston Bruins, a spot in the standings that was starting to look unattainable after they dropped three-straight and fell five points back of the final playoff spot in the East. On Sunday, the Rangers showed fight and determination against a team that isnt short on either. Carmelo Anthony Jersey . Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Denard Spans solo home run in the ninth inning proved to be more than just insurance for Minnesota, as the Twins held on to beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-3, and avoid a three-game sweep at Rogers Centre. Closer Joe Nathan, who missed all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, came on to protect a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth, his first appearance since October 11, 2009. Travis Snider led off with a single and Mike McCoy stroked a one-out double before Yunel Escobar lofted a sacrifice fly to center field. Consecutive walks to Juan Rivera and Jose Bautista loaded the bases for Adam Lind, who grounded out to first baseman Michael Cuddyer to end the game. Starter Nick Blackburn (1-0) gave up two runs -- one earned -- on six hits over 5 2/3 innings for Minnesota, which avoided starting 0-3 for the first time since 1981. Brett Cecil (0-1) allowed three runs and six hits in five full frames for the Blue Jays. Minnesotas Danny Valencia homered to open the third inning, but Toronto tied it in the fourth on a throwing error by Twins second baseman Tsuyoshi Nishioka. Authentic Chicago Bulls Jersey. The Twins scored two runs in the fifth to take a 3-1 lead. With the bases loaded and nobody out, Matt Tolbert stroked a single to left field. Jason Kubel came home with the go-ahead run, but Valencia was thrown out at home by Snider. Back-to-back singles by Span and Nishioka plated another run before Cecil retired Delmon Young and Justin Morneau to escape further damage. Bautista, who led the majors last season with a club record 54 home runs, belted his second of 2011 to leadoff the sixth. Spans blast to right field made it 4-2 in the ninth. (Sports Network) - Ricky Romero will try to get the Toronto Blue Jays back on track this evening when they open a four-game set with the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. Amare Stoudemire Authentic Jersey . The Jays, who with 40 wins are one of the biggest surprises in the league, had a difficult time in Philadelphia over the weekend, dropping two of three including an 11-2 rout in Sundays finale. Vernon Wells went 2-for-3 and upped his home run total to 19 with a two-run shot for Toronto, which committed four errors in its fifth loss in seven games. Brett Cecil (7-5) surrendered seven runs -- five earned -- on 10 hits and a walk in 4 2/3 innings to get the loss. "We didnt give [Cecil] any support in terms of defense," Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston said. "We certainly lost as a team today." Hoping for a little more run support tonight will be Romero, who hasnt allowed a run in either of his last two starts. Romero, though, didnt get a win on Wednesday against St. Louis despite scattering eight hits in eight scoreless innings of his teams 1-0 loss. "It was a tough one, a pitchers duel. I knew it was going to be a tough one. It was just a good game," said the hard-luck Romero, who is 6-3 on the season with a 2.85 eared run average. Romero, 2-0 in two starts versus the Indians, has allowed two runs or less in four of his last five starts overall, but is just 2-1 in that time. Cleveland, meanwhile, will counter with veteran right-hander Jake Westbrook, who is 4-4 with a 4.90 ERA. Westbrook did not get a decision in his last start on Wednesday in Philadelphia, as he allowed four runs and seven hits in five innings of his teams 7-6 loss. Westbrook has faced the Blue Jays nine times (sevens tarts) and is 2-2 with a 5.05 ERA. Cleveland snapped a seven-game losing streak on Sunday, as Shin-Soo Choo hit two home runs and Mitch Talbot was sharp through seven innings, helping the Indians to a 5-3 win over Cincinnati to conclude their three-game interleague set. Talbot (8-6) surrendered just a lone run on three hits while striking out five and walking three for the Tribe, who won for just a second time in their last 13 games. Kerry Wood struck out the side in order in the ninth to earn his sixth save of the season. Toronto swept a three-game set from the Indians back in early May and have won six of its last seven in Cleveland. Amare Stoudemire Swingman Jersey .28 metres at the World Athletics Final. LAVAL, Que. -- If there were a referee in this ring, the count against Dave Hilton Jr. would be 71, 72, 73 ... Unfortunately for the former world champion boxer, this ring is a courtroom. And Hilton stepped into that familiar venue -- again -- while wearing handcuffs. Hilton was refused bail Wednesday as he faced charges of assault and uttering threats, now piled onto the mountainous rap sheet his boxing family has become famous for. The Fighting Hiltons -- including brothers Dave Jr., Alex, and Matthew -- were once the premier family of Canadian boxing. But theyve become more legendary for their bouts in the courtroom than on the canvas after being cited in at least 105 criminal cases over the years -- some of them involving a multitude of charges. Many of those charges did not result in convictions. But members of the hard-drinking Montreal clan have made mischief in a wide swath of establishments: there were holdups at a donut shop, and at a hot-dog joint. In one year alone, Alex opened gunfire in a hotel lobby -- and on a motel window. According to Quebecs judicial database, about one-third of the Hiltons prodigious rap sheet belongs to Dave Hilton Jr. His career resume involves charges in about three-dozen separate cases, for a total of at least 73 counts over the years -- including the two latest ones he faced Wednesday. Quebec court Judge Dominique Larochelle ruled Hilton should be remain jailed to ensure he has no contact with the alleged assault victim, his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Larochelle ruled that Hilton has demonstrated an inability to abide by court conditions, and shown he doesnt always make the best choices when it comes to the alleged victim. But this time, Hilton insisted, it was all for love. The former world super-middleweight champion testified during his bail hearing that he reunited with his ex-girlfriend -- thus, by his own admission, breaking seven court and bail conditions -- because she threatened to commit suicide. In a dramatic gesture, Hilton waved his handcuffed arms in a sweeping motion toward the courtroom visitors gallery. "I would do the same thing for anyone here," Hilton snapped during a verbal sparring match with exasperated Crown prosecutor Pierre-Luc Rolland, who asked repeatedly why he didnt simply call 911. "I would do anything in the world to help her." Hilton acknowledged the relationship with the woman has been troubled. He has been arrested four times in recent months for allegedly assaulting the same girlfriend. "She can love me today and hate me tomorrow," Hilton told the judge. The unemployed, 46-year-old scrapper was acquitted in 2007 and again in January, then arrested in May and slapped with five charges in a case that will go to trial in October. But on Wednesday, Hiltons lawyer Clemente Monterosso played a number of messages from the woman left on his personal cell phone pleading for a way to have the two newest charges tossed. "Could you do something as fast as possible because I cant live without him," she says in one emotional message. "My heart is broken." In the latest incident, Hilton was arrested on Sunday after what police described as a night of drinking in which the woman ended up with a swollen lip. Carmelo Anthony Swingman Jersey. He denies that any assault took place. But it appears that his sons behaviour is finally wearing thin for the family patriarch. Dave Hilton Sr. does not approve of his latest relationship and, after watching his son sent away again, he said it was too much. "I do blame my son -- he knew what he was doing when he got up at night and she came to get him," Dave Hilton Sr. said outside court. "We trusted him, I trusted him, all my other boys would never do that." When it came to lawbreaking in the family it was Alex Hilton, a former Canadian middleweight champ who shuttled back and forth between prisoners docks over the years, who was the undisputed heavyweight. But his mom says hes doing much better these days. The 44-year-old is living at home again and attended his brothers court appearances with his parents. "Thank goodness its been almost a year and we have no problems with Alex," said Jean Hilton. The Crown scoffed when Jean Hilton told the court she was ready to keep Dave Jr. on a short leash. But she was adamant about what shed do if he went astray: "I can swear on the Bible that I will call the police." In the most infamous of all the brothers crimes, Dave Hilton Jr. was convicted in 2001 of sexually abusing his daughters, for which he served two-thirds of a seven-year prison sentence. He was sent to a halfway house, and then back to prison again after breaking his bail conditions. The daughters, now adults, went to court to get a publication ban lifted on their identities because they wanted to speak out. The Hilton moniker had already become a staple on Montreals police blotter decades ago. In 1985, Alex Hilton pleaded guilty to charges of assault, illegal possession of a firearm and damaging property after firing a revolver in a hotel lobby, then assaulting a security guard who told him to pay a bar tab. Around the same time he pleaded pleaded guilty to firing a gun into the window of a suburban motel. In 1988, while in jail, he was sentenced to five years in prison for ordering a fellow inmate sodomized. In 2004, he was convicted after threatening to hurt employees at a diner unless they handed over about $40. Dave and Matthew Hilton, who also became a world junior middleweight champion in 1987, were convicted in 1992 of armed robbery at a Dunkin Donuts for a total cash haul of $160. After his heated exchange Tuesday with the Crown, the wisecracking Dave Hilton Jr. gladly agreed when asked to address the judge. He quipped to the prosecutor hed much rather look at the female judge: "(Shes) much better looking than you." In this latest case, Hilton insisted his motives were pure. He said the recent death of his former brother-in-law Arturo Gatti, which Brazillian authorities have called a suicide, spurred him to intervene. He says he only got back with his ex-girlfriend because she was emotionally fragile. When asked why he didnt call 911 if the woman claimed to be suicidal, Hilton replied: "Im not going to call the police. I take care of my own problems." When asked by his lawyer whether he would promise to stay away from the woman if granted bail "one last time," he agreed. ' ' '

CHARLOTTE, N. John Stockton Swingman Jersey .C. -- Jamall Lees hometown team liked him so much they traded up to take him No. 3 overall in the draft. The only problem was that it wasnt the NFL draft. Lee was practising with the Carolina Panthers on Saturday when the B.C. Lions traded up to take him in the CFLs Canadian college draft. Canadian university footballs rushing leader the last two years didnt realize hed become big news north of the border until he checked his voicemail several hours later and found it filled with congratulatory messages. He had been too busy practising and learning a different style of football. "Id love to make it here," Lee said Sunday after finishing his final minicamp practice with Carolina. "The CFL is a great league and Im really proud of the guys up there. "But right now this is where I want to be. This is where the quote-unquote best players are." With Carolina already deep at running back, Lee faces long odds to make the Panthers final 53-man roster. The speedy, six-foot-one, 225-pound Lee feels he has the talent to play in the NFL. To do so hell have to adjust to a game that has one fewer player per side, an extra down to get a first down and a much narrower field. "Even on the snap count, I would jump the snap count up there," Lee said of the CFLs more relaxed rules for going in motion. "Down here I just wait until the ball is snapped because I dont want to be offside." Lee grew up a basketball fanatic in Port Coquitlam, B.C., about a 30-minute drive from Vancouver. But soon he realized his best sport was football. It shouldnt have been a surprise because his father, Orville, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1988 CFL draft and spent five years in the league as a running back. Oregon State suggested he attend junior college in the United States and maybe transfer there later, but Lee declined. He enrolled at Bishops University and went on to become a two-time Canadian Interuniversity Sport rushing champion, finishing with 4,296 yards and 35 touchdowns. Lee caught the attention of the Panthers and other NFL teams after setting CFL combine records in the 40-yard dash (4.39 seconds) and vertical leap (44 inches). He wasnt taken in the NFL draft, but the Panthers were on the phone with his agent five minutes after it ended. "Carolina showed a lot of interest before the draft. It was a good situation," Lees agent, Zeke Sandhu said. "Yes, they have DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, but hes got a shot to be a third-down back and return man." Signing with Carolina didnt scare away the Lions. They traded the sixth and 13th picks to Hamilton -- a deal that was agreed to Friday, pending Lees availability -- to get him. "Things fell into place for us after the first two selections were made and we are very excited to draft a player of Jamalls calibre," said Lions general manager and head coach Wally Buono. "Hes a tremendous athlete who I believe is capable of having a big impact on the field." Since the CFL season starts much earlier than the NFL -- B.C.s first regular-season game is July 3 -- the Lions will be without their top pick for a good chunk of the season because Lee is expected to be in training camp with Carolina beginning in August. The final cut to 53 players is Sept. 1. "It lets you know they were really interested in me and theyre willing to even wait, if things work out for me here," Lee said. "Its a good feeling." Lee certainly has a financial incentive to stay south of the Canadian border. Hed make US$310,000 under the NFL rookie minimum if he stuck with Carolina. Hed make about $50,000 in the CFL. But Lee has to learn more than your basic NFL rookie. He got many of his yards in college by running outside and taking advantage of the 65 yard-wide field. In the NFL, the width is just over 53 yards. "I dont think Ive cut outside once in this camp," Lee said. "I just keep following the holes. "If I break it up the middle, then maybe Ill cut it outside. But you cant do that here. Guys are too fast." Panthers coach John Fox said Lees "got the physical tools" and "well see how he progresses." With fourth-round pick Mike Goodson adding to the glut at running back, Lee knows hell have to shine in training camp. Otherwise, hell quickly become a B.C. Lion and trade in his goals of winning the Super Bowl to competing for a Grey Cup title. "I want to push myself as far as I can go and see what happens," Lee said. "If it doesnt work out, Im happy I took my shot and Ill go back home." The proposal, which will be put before a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council on Wednesday, would see the 2009 entry fee for teams increase from the current $466,000 US to more than $1. Authentic Allen Iverson Jersey . With 5:22 remaining in the first period and the Jackets leading the Penguins 1-0 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Tyutin skated deep into his own zone to retrieve a dump-in. Strasburg, selected by the Washington Nationals with the No. 1 overall pick in Junes amateur draft, pitched inside when he competed for San Diego State and is hoping to continue that strategy in the pros. Tweet With each passing game, the Detroit Red Wings are inching closer toward their 19th consecutive appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Valtteri Filppula broke a 2-2 tie with 6:49 remaining in regulation on Wednesday night, as the Wings improved to 6-0-1 in their last seven games with a 4-2 win against the St. Louis Blues at Joe Louis Arena. Not only did Detroit move four points ahead of the ninth-place Calgary Flames, but it also pulled within three points of fifth place. The Red Wings are 9-2-1 since the NHL resumed play after the Olympic break. "Tonight was probably the toughest game for us that weve had in a while," Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "But the guys dug in and they found a way to win. I probably should have given them (Tuesday) off. I chose not to and I thought it would help us. If I could do it all over again, Id take (Tuesday) off. Well take (Thursday) off and get re-energized mentally and physically." Jimmy Howard continued to make his case for the Calder Trophy by making 30 saves to earn his 30th win of the season. "Howie was the guy that kept us in the game," Babcock said. "Lets not kid ourselves. He looks like hes a goalie. He battles. Hes getting better, so good for us." After Paul Kariya scored in the first period to give the Blues a 1-0 lead, Henrik Zetterberg and Todd Bertuzzi scored in the second period for Detroit. Jay McClement tied the game for St. Louis when he beat Howard 2:05 into the third. Zetterberg has 17 points in his last 11 games. His goal came just 26 seconds into the second. "Z has really pushed here as of late," Babcock said. Ty Conklin, who was Chris Osgoods backup goaltender in Detroit last season, made 20 saves for the Blues. He was particularly bothered by Filppulas go-ahead tally, which was set up by Brian Rafalskis flip from center ice. The puck bounced off Conklin and went right to Filppula, who stepped around the goaltender backhanded the puck into the wide-open net for his 10th goal of the season. "Tonight was probably the toughest game for us that weve had in a while. But the guys dug in and they found a way to win. I probably should have given them (Tuesday) off. I chose not to and I thought it would help us. If I could do it all over again, Id take (Tuesday) off. Well take (Thursday) off and get re-energized mentally and physically." -- Mike Babcock Filppula then sealed the deal with an empty-net goal at 19:48. "Just frustrating," Conklin said after his team fell 10 points behind Detroit. "One was off a foot and the last one. Im trying not to back up and get eaten up by it. "I thought we outplayed them for a good part of the game, especially in the third period." Canucks 4, Ducks 1 | HIGHLIGHTS | PHOTOS Henrik Sedin set up Vancouvers first three goals and took over the NHL scoring lead as the Canucks stayed five points ahead of Colorado in the Northwest Division and putt another nail into the Ducks playoff hopes. Amare Stoudemire Swingman Jersey. Andrew Raycroft got only the second home start by a Vancouver goaltender in four seasons when Roberto Luongo was healthy and made 30 saves as coach Alain Vigneault sat his captain, who looked shaky in Tuesdays 3-2 loss at Edmonton. "I thought Razor played real good," coach Alain Vigneault said. "When he had to make key saves at the right time, he made the big saves." Raycroft was superb in the early going, gobbling up high shots by Corey Perry and Lubomir Visnovsky without allowing rebounds. His glove save off Matt Beleskey early in the third period drew chants of "Raycroft! Raycroft!" from the sellout crowd of 18,810. "I had to kind of compose myself," Raycroft said. "It was pretty cool. It was greatly appreciated." Vigneault said he was more than happy to match his big line of the Sedin twins and Alex Burrows with Anaheims top unit, let by Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. "The twins line was really good," Vigneault said. "We played them head-to-head most of the night against Getzlafs (line), and I thought they did a really solid job against them." Henrik Sedin Center - VAN GOALS: 28 | ASST: 71 | PTS: 99 SOG: 151 | +/-: 35 Henrik Sedin set up Christian Ehrhoffs power-play goal 8:31 into the game and Daniels fluke goal at 16:48 for a 2-0 lead, leaving Ducks coach Randy Carlyle frustrated. "I didnt think we played that badly -- we had a decent start and we were down 2-0," he said. Burrows made it 3-0 at 6:19 of the second when Daniel forced a turnover behind the Anaheim net and got the puck to Henrik at the side of the goal. Henriks spinning blind backhand pass left Burrows with an empty net at the other side for his team-leading 33rd goal of the season. Henriks 99 points are one more than Washingtons Alex Ovechkin. No Canuck has ever led the NHL in scoring. Saku Koivu spoiled Raycrofts shutout by scoring at 8:04 of the third, but Ryan Kesler hit the empty net with 30 seconds left. The loss left Anaheim 11 points behind eighth-place Detroit with nine games remaining. The Ducks have dropped their last two games, scoring only three goals. "It seems like in the last two losses, weve played only parts of games, not a full 60 minutes," Carlyle said. The Ducks also lost Getzlaf after he reinjured the same ankle he hurt before the Olympics. "Its frustrating when you don’t get points when you need them," Anaheim captain Scott Niedermayer said. "Ryan is a big part of our offense, and we didnt have him. We have to find a way."
